Hello.
I usually am QUITE the talker, but today I am showing restraint.
Sometimes you just want THE THING…. and I get that… I really do…
55….54
Right… I get it.
My advice:
Good marketing = multiple things pointing to one thing.
If you see a sign for a diner, you think oh that’s (blank) diner.
If you see a sign and a TV ad, you go “oh that’s that diner we saw.”
If you see a sign, a TV ad, and one of those plane banners in the sky you’d say, “wow either this diner is a front for drugs or their food is REALLY good”.
…ok I would say that.
My point is that multiple impressions > more impressions.
Viral social media content has conditioned us to believe reaching 10 million people is amazing (and it is).
But true business folk (like yourself) know that building a career means getting in front of your audience multiple times in multiple ways.
(Like, this Substack and this wonderful instagram.)
It’s literally the only reason why record labels can still launch artists, they just make a phone call and book their artists in multiple places.
It’s why every emerging artist plays on Jimmy Fallon…… Jimmy Kimmel…… all the Jimmy’s…..
Every time you see that person with a new Jimmy you say “oh dang that’s that person”… and you just assume that means they’re good or credible (you’re lucky I’m both).
….-2, ……..-3….
Don’t chase viral content and waste a decade of consistent growth across multiple channels.
Or…. at least make viral content in multiple places.
I’d explain more but alas I am confined by my own arbitrary restraints…. and who am I to change that?
What this woman trying to tell me? Do I need a gold bracelet and a lot of money to push my content up like on the social platforms?
